COVID-19 Update

April 2, 2020

Sorry for the multiple updates, but things changed quite drastically overnight. The ADA released new guidance for infection control and COVID-19 Prevention.

Unfortunately, this guidance recommends the use of N95 respirators for any patient needing treatment involving our high-speed drills. The supply of N95 respirators is extremely limited right now, so we are rationing them for true emergencies.

Risk in the dental office is moderate to high because patients without symptoms can still spread the virus, and many procedures produce droplets that can remain suspended in the air for up to a couple hours.

You may be putting yourself at risk by coming to the office. So please do not request an appointment unless you truly need it. Also, for the protection of our staff and other patients we are not currently able to see patients with signs of illness, we recommend you contact your healthcare provider for a COVID-19 test before making an appointment.

Most dental appointments will consist of temporary patches and relief of pain, not a definitive treatment. You are welcome to call, and we can discuss whether you have an emergency or if we can help with in-home care advice or call in a prescription over the phone for you.

Depending on the extent of the phone consult, you may be charged for a Limited Exam via phone or teleconference; most insurances are covering this.

Things that would need Urgent Dental Care are:

• Pain
• Swelling
• Trauma injuring your mouth in any way
• A broken tooth or broken temporary crown

About Us

Solstice Dentistry family smile

Dr. Ben Belfiglio and his team of independent associates: Dr. Debbie Wrigley and Dr. Leonard Yuknis are here to provide you with friendly, conservative, dental care. No hard sales, web specials, or advertising gimmicks, just an honest evaluation of your needs.

We know that the best advertising comes from happy patients who refer friends and family to Solstice Dentistry. Because a happy smile and the ability to chew the foods you love sells itself. Our associates at Solstice Dentistry are delighted to take care of your teeth, even if you haven’t had dental care for a while. We have several patients who have not seen a dentist for 10 or 15 years, leave saying, “If dentists had been this nice to me ten years ago, I wouldn’t have stayed away so long.”

As honest, conservative dentists, we like the personal touch and accountability of using our last names for our brand. We have too many long names for our front desk staff to communicate on the phone and needed a recognizable domain name for our website. Thus Solstice Dentistry was born.

Patient Resources

Thank you for choosing Solstice Dentistry to serve your dental care. We provide high-quality dental care to our patients and are committed to your treatment being successful. To assist our patients, we offer the following patient resources for your convenience.

If you have any question about these documents, please call our office at (907) 333-9591 during regular business hours.

Our Team

Ben Belfiglio, DDS

Ben went to Loma Linda School of Dentistry, where he met his wife Dr. Debbie Wrigley, who was born and raised in Anchorage. Since the Army paid for his dental school, he served tours at Camp Casey, South Korea and a 15-month tour in Iraq before finishing active duty at Ft. Richardson. He loves anything to do with water: fishing, surfing, kiteboarding, and exploring Alaska. Ben purchased the practice from Leonard Yuknis in 2012. With the same philosophies of conservative care and friendly personality, the transition has been smooth, and our patients are delighted.

Independent Associates:

Our Technology

We believe in conservative treatment using proven techniques. We do not push new or gimmicky technology. Many times the latest and the coolest gadget made famous by advertising, offers no real advantage. No dental equipment is cheap. Spending thousands of dollars trying to keep up with marketing gimmicks results in higher costs for you.

Only when new technologies are on the market and tested through research, do we incorporate them into the practice. Rotary instruments for root canals, digital radiographs, new implant designs, and stronger, better-looking tooth-colored fillings are all things we have added to our practice.

Our Location

Solstice Dentistry is located just north of the Boniface Parkway and Northern Lights intersection. The Boniface Dental Center is a two-story dark gray building. Our practice is on the right-hand side of the downstairs lobby. Our office hours are Monday thru Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, except for holidays.
